Events Few records exist for reserve squadrons prior to1970. They did not submit history reports Until 1970. 27 Jan 1968: Following the capture of the USS Pueblo by a North Korean patrol boat on 23 Jan 1968, the President directed the activation of VA-873. "I was in VA-873 after it mobilized. It was activated while I was on TAD/TDY to MCAS Yuma with VA-876, also from Alameda, in support of their two weeks ACDUTRA in JAN 68. At that time I was an AOAN (TAR) assigned to the Weapons Branch at NARTU, Alameda." CW5 Rob Billington, ARNGUS. |
